BotArchive is the easiest way to automatically save content to your existing Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive or Box account. To make it even easier, you can actually print directly from your MacOS computer to your cloud storage! No need to open a browser, find the file, drag and drop it: any program that supports printing will let you save the content to your cloud storage. Here's how to set up a printer that connects to your cloud storage using Bot Archive.
1. Visit BotArchive at https://www.botarchive.com/home.html: click Configure Storage if you don't already have BotArchive linked to your Google Drive. Once configured, click the Settings icon:
2. Switch to the Print tab, then click the Show Printer Configuration button. Note that using BotArchive's print functionality requires a paid plan or subscription: once you sign up you will receive a free 7-day subscription, with no credit card required.
3. Copy the printer address and the printer queue values: clicking on the icon on the right of each value will copy the values to the clipboard. You will need these values to configure the printer.
4. On your MacOS desktop, open the System Preferences dialog by clicking the Apple icon in the top menu bar, and then click the System Preferences menu item. Search for Printers and then click on the highlighted option.
5. Click the + icon to open the new printer dialog.
6. Select the IP tab and then paste the printer address and queue from step 4 above into the input fields. Change the name of the printer to BotArchive, then click Add.
7. The printer has been added, and is now ready!
8. To use the printer from any software that supports printing (for example, Chrome), open up the print dialog and select the new BotArchive printer. Click the Print button to send the print.
9. If you open your cloud storage (click the View Archive button from step 1 to go directly to the right location in your browser) you'll see the printed file.
Going forward, any document printed to the new Bot Archive printer will be automatically stored in your configured cloud storage.
